With Xmas coming up, we're buying #1 daughter a 30G iPod (colour screen, plays videos, and shows photos).

I already have a 40G iPod - mono screen, music only - with it's own docking station.

We have a Dell Dimension 3600, WinXP, with domains for each family member.

Question: can anyone give simple advice how to share one iTunes Library, or more specifically different music choices, between these two iPods?

I don't want #1 daughter to set up another iTunes Library on her domain.

Is it possible for iTunes to sense whichever iPod is in the docking station, and load / update 'their' iPod with 'their' respective music tracks?

I don't want her Rap crap music on mine, and she doesn't want ZZ Top or Tchaikovsky on hers.

Thanks in advance! :thumb

Cheers,

Neil.

yes it is possible - you just set up the new iPod to load music manually and not on auto - that way she can choose which tracks to put on the iPod. You can do this from the iTunes preferences menu.

Yeah it not very hard to do - if an ex-bootie can do it then anyone can, And as Nadeem said remember to update the song manually, or you can set your own play lists and update that to your diffent ipods

cheers
