The weather looked good this weekend- much better than forecast and having nothing much planned it was decided to go for a wee run on the bikes- us now being a two bike household:D

First stop was Argyll Motorcycle Training - Ian and Yvonne were doing CBT's so we stopped by to say hello.
And have a wee shottie round the bullseye... It pains me to report she was much better than me.

We did, of course, have to go the long way home via Loch Awe and Inverary....

All in all it was a nice wee day out on the bikes- if a tad chilly towards the end of the day as it was getting dark by the time we got home. We washed all the crap off the bikes and tucked them up in the garage then cleared off down the pub for a warming drink.

Or two:beerjug:

Today dawned with an even better forecast so after we'd finished doing some work on the storm damage to the boat we felt we needed and deserved a wee treat so off we went on the bikes again.

First stop was the garage for fuel and Fruitackes first bike repair- thought Hondas were meant to be reliable?

Word had gotten out that Cafe Azzuro in Tarbert served a mean bacon and blue cheese pannini so the route was decided.
The bikes enjoyed the view while we stuffed our faces- very nice it was too...

The decision was to take the Kilberry Road home- 20 odd miles of single track with some fine views- this is of Fruitcakes new helmet. And the Paps of Jura.

She then decided to try to try and order a beer at the Craighouse Hotel by semaphore - not sure the message got through...

Still feeling the cold even after the semaphore episode she tucked in close to try and get out of the chill breeze while we headed off to the strange stones.

...and the strange people looking at them.

Why would you want to gather headstones from graves from around Argyll and then put them on display in the middle of nowhere? 'Suppose you've got to have a hobby...

Then again why would you go driving around the cold, wet country side on a motorbike then spend ages with a hose, bucket and sponge cleaning all the crap off them afterwards??

:D

BTW- I know we've got reg numbers in the photos...WTF?

Good for you. Wish i had done the same. Weekend after weekend iam feed up washing all the crap off the bike after a wee 60 mile run round the block. SO I Spent the day waxing and cleaning the car. I so wish i had went out on the GS :thumb

I was out both Sat & Sun, weather was very good both days for getting oot & aboot:thumb.

Wully, I like your screen on the GS where did you get that from? Looks a bit taller and has a bit of a tint? I've worked out that 80mm would make all the difference for me (or so the missus says:augie), duck yer head 80mm = quiet and up again = noise + buffeting.

PS. Bought a Baby V (Varadero) for my son last Sept, very good bike it is too for a tall lad that he is.
Cheers,

Jim

Jim, It's a Nippy Norman High Wide screen ( slight tint) you'll see it on his web site- and in 'For sale and wanted' section pretty soon:cool:

(pimp) It does cut down the buffeting a lot and it is much quieter at normal spped than the stock screen.

(willnae fit the new ADV..)

Or you could have gone snow holeing like me (except there wasn't enough snow so we had to work til half one in the morning trying to build an igloo out of slush:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:)
Still, it was a character building experience I suppose.
Think I'll go out on my bike next time:eek:.

Thats an awfae small hole for you to get through:augie

Maybe you should try a B&B next time?

P.S. Forecast is looking good for some windy watersports this weekend...

Maybe it's just a big, thick jacket?:augie

Remember- fat is fast, just ask Whitey...:D

It's a fair cop guvnor, the jackets just a Goretex shell (not thick at all).
Forecast does look good for a sail this w/e. I've almost forgotten what to do it's so long since I was out.

Me?

Once since October- where does the blue string go:nenau

hope it's not mental like last time...
Was pretty nuts here today, too much for me to do anything but point and click but the local heroes ventured out (very) briefly before deciding it was too strong for 4.2s (my smallest is5.5):augie.

I didn't have a small enough sail for today ( smallest I've got is is a 4.0)

So spent the morning fitting a center stand to Fruitcakes Varadero , then tidied the garage then cooked supper.
Now we're off down the pub to build up an appetite

A few more days like this and I won't need any smaller kit....hope the weather is better tomorrow..

P.S. - hope that's not you on the Rock....:augie
