Done a couple of trips out with panniers on with SWMBO when it has been persistently raining - she suffered from spray and shit from the rear wheel coming up between the panniers and the pannier rails (1150GS), covering the bottom of her leggings and jacket.

I stopped and bought a couple of 'large mouse mats' (actually, welders mats) and wedged them under the pannier clips and pillion seat to stop this spray up.

Anyone seen a better fix for this problem?

Cheers,

Neil.

where can these be bought?

If you can make a template out of cardboard or something thin and flexi,I'll try and cut them out of sheet rubber for you.I tried doing this on mine, and found that the footpeg hanger loops were a major cause of the water/crap and other stuff getting up between the panniers and the bike.Let me know what you think

Sorry Cookie, I double typed the "Z" - I meant to type ztechnik however, I've woken up a bit & gone to look at the plate. It's actually from Zweckdesign & looks like this....
