has anyone heard anything more about this? or even the rumoured 800 paralell twin 800 gs ? got money burning a hole in my pocket and just want to know if any of these models are anywhere near being released.

Try to keep that money there. I've been told by Dutch Enduro BMW dealer Bert Duursma the first pics of the new HP1 should be available Q4 2006, and the bike will/might be for sale spring 2007. It is promised to be a 650 single weighing only 150 kg's, and a serious offroad bike.
It might be just the bike I am looking for. Till then, my current bike will do just fine.
