Thanks FP.

Panniers

Every bike i've ever owned has had panniers fitted from an F650 Funduro with really wide BM cases to a K1100LT with the same type of box mounted close into the bodywork and a huge topbox the same as the plastic 1150GS one but with the addition of a backrest/speaker mount. My 1150GSA had the original BM alloy boxes and top box which I changed for 35/41 litre Zegas which were never really off the bike as they were too handy for carrying stuff and not too obtrusive.

I've never really noticed any bad handling problems except in severe cross or headwinds but then I usually ride pretty slowly....!

With the HP2 it's either the Zegatex 'soft' luggage system and a tankbag or the 29/35 litre Zega boxes which I like and miss not having anymore.......!

I guess you either love or hate panniers, I like them a lot( though I've not had any catch fire.......yet!!):D

What's the point of buying panniers when you've already got zega flex kit.
The bike sits it the shed for 50 weeks of the year anyways :P

Hi FP

I have the GSA panniers fitted to my HP2 with the frames coming from a Polish company called Holan.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasemarkos/1469130807/" title="IMGP1290 by jsmarkos, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1148/1469130807_b1f6b2316f.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="IMGP1290" /></a>

They are quite narrow which is great for filtering and commuting but it did mean making some adjustments to the indicators and exhaust. Of course, the frames also act as extra crash protection for riding off-road. I have the panniers fitted as I commute regularly on the bike and have also done a few trips with the G/F on the back. Yes, of course a GSA would be great for those tasks but right now I don't have the budget for both bikes... at least not yet :green gri

HP2 Boxes

Hi ADVHP2 rider, I like the look of those Zega racks, I also like the 12ADV boxes on Mavs bike! Definately no shortage of fuel with those jerry cans fitted either.........!!

touratech instructions sheet about zega set, prevents on maximum loading around 10kg by each case...............:augie

are they serious?

I've got the 27/35l Zega set on mine. 27l case is quite small and positioned a bit wide... Pannier system survived a few 1000km of bumpy roads last summer so the builtquality seems ok.
