has anyone ridden the hp2s demo thats doing the rounds at the moment in the uk?
i rode it this week and it just did'nt do it for me it does look stunning but felt as tho it needed a good service after being thrashed by the press or are they like this?
i've had one on order since march but i'm not sure if its for me after riding one.

What did you find wrong with it ? it's not a 1098.

so i should buy the ducati instead? :)
perhaps some of the problem lies in not having owned a boxer but i thought they had smoothed the motor a lot on this one ?
the clutch was snatchy the breaks poor and it just felt tired which is why i said perhaps it needed a service.
oh and i'm gettin on a bit :D

To be honest all you have said about the bike I found to be true very much so the brakes, But the engine is very nice and you can use it on the road, The 1098 is hand full and would queston one for road use only.

When I had a go of one it only had 3000 miles on it, so still 1000 of miles before it's run in.

Me if I was in the market for this sort of bike I would wait for the 848s, but from what dealer i'm not sure.

Shame HM don't sell Ducatis

My HP2 has done just over 14000 miles now and the motor is getting better and better by the day as it is loosening up. As for the brakes they are down right dangerous as they are to good. Fair play the rear locks up by just looking at the break pedal but the front is sharp as anything and you will find yourself doing a stoppie within seconds.

You need to adjust your style completely to conventional breaking methods if you been spoiled with ABS else you will end up in the back of a truck/car etc. I tap the rear ever so slightly so the bike sits down and then hit the front. The suspension travel is fairly long hence the massive diving effect you get. Suppose you can sort this out with progressive springs should you feel that way.

At the end of the day this is a bike that makes no financial sense and pretty much basic as can be so as long as you buy it with that intention you should be fine. Else look for something else :beerjug:

Thats a lot of miles Maverick.

And as you have said to me, it is the bike you always wanted, even though it makes no financial sense.

I think if one watches videos or Youtube of the Ertzberg Rodeo you get the idea of just how capable these bikes are.

Found you a clip, loads more here....
