HPN Tank

HPN had some as did TT both around the 20-25 litre mark

the HPN is the better product...:thumb2

I'm Lo-IQ on this - pretty sure the Touratech units have three separate fillers... The HPN seems like a better package, and is around the same price. They're still listed on the HPN price list too...

I have the hpn and am very happy with it. Well worth the money. Can't say about the TT. I believe the hpn is still available. Richard

Hi guys,
The one on ebay is 1500 dollars in the states so would work out as much as getting one from HPN once you add shipping and tax etc I would imagine.
I fitted one in about 4 or 5 hours and it looks like it belongs on the bike, i think the TT extra tanks look crapin comparison having seen them in the flest, 3 fuel fillers and 3 actual tanks as oposed to a complete new tank from HPN. quality of HPN is excellent as are all the fittings, Ive done 16000 miles and no issues.
it is by far the best mod I have done and worth every penny. although i did have to dig deap to spend that amount of cash on a fuel tank and oil cooler in the first place, im glad i did. I get the same range as a GS when touring and i like the way it looks better that the original tank pannels.
If you get one I would be more than happy to ride over and give you a hand fitting, I'm no mechanic but having fitted one I know some of the snags and fiddly bits.
I only charge a bacon butty and cup of tea, so I'm pretty cheap too. (it has been said)
Just my peneth, sorry if I upset any TT tank owners.
:thumb from me.

In the meantime, you might find you don't need one. I've ridden mine a fair bit and only occasionally do I think about needing one. Ridden steady on the road, you can 150 before running dry... Pushing on in the dirt, and you can hit the reserve light at 70/80... depending on how hard you're trying :green gri

I've got a thread on here some place when I fitted my HPN tank...

be aware of the rubber traingles....:blast

took a while as the first ones came without fitting instructions... they do look good when fitted... the TT one well there's a problem there already before you've even started....:augie

I bought mine as every trip into London was a fill up at some point which was a 70 mile round trip on SM wheels (spirited like I wanted to get there riding)

I did buy piggy back tank and rack extensions from wunderlich which I still have....

Im a bit wary as i was out the other day and my light came on in the middle of nowhere. What sort of miles do you get once the light is on? As om hoping to do morroco later this year and if it happens yhere im in the shit.....

A somewhat cheaper option at about 500 Euro and I've seen it fitted to a bike which looked like an elegant solution.

Rocky, if you get one, I may be interested in getting one as well, which may save on postage costs.

I've got an Ali one but... you can never have enough petrol tanks in my opinion....:thumb2

I have the HPN tank on y UK machine which was great when I did a run down to Morocco a few beers back. I also have the Africa Queens Pannier tanks which work with the original centre tank. Not tried yet, still in the box. I'd say though go for the HPN if you can as the AQ has two seperate fuel pumps, more shit to go wrong!:thumb2
