Can anyone recommend a front mudguard extender and a hugger?

How much can I expect to pay?

Anyone got any second hand ones they want to offload?

Cheers.

Ben.

If you buy the popular Pyramid hugger then be careful as it does not fit ABS bikes properly and gouges bits out of it.

Ben.
Ben, Suggest you do a search on the site for huggers, as they don't seem to be all their cracked up to be.

Ben The pyramid hugger design was changed in 2002 and it no longer binds on the underside, I have one and its excellent, it keeps all the crap off the working bits of the shock, none of the front fender extender's are long enough but can be remedied by the addition of a piece of rubber about 2 inches longer and a bit wider then the fender extender and thsi does keep all the grap off the engine front, more importantly keeps the stones off.

I fitted a Pyramid hugger to my 1100 with ABS, easy fit with 2 mins. work to file a slot for the ABS wire. Talking to the supplier all the R1100/1150 huggers come out of the same mould and just need the odd slot filed to get them to fit your bike. As a result I paid £50 for a new factory second for an R1150R.

This address takes you to the supplier www.ayers-mc.co.uk

Good hunting

Keeping the rear end clean

I fitted a Pyramid hugger to my 2003 ABS 1150 in September. As previously stated a quick 2-min job with the file and it fits perfectly.
In addition I have fitted a Touratech splashplate and retained the standard mudguard extension (its seems popular to remove this) and the rear-end stays quite clean during the wetest of weather.

I also have a Pyramid Fender Extender on the front but I still get a fair bit of muck thrown up against the engine etc. It is better than before I fitted it but I may look at something else as time goes by (although the large rubber mudguard flaps may work very well I just can't bring myself to fit one).
