Done the deed and ordered a new GSA. Just taken the Ilmberger carbon-fibre hugger off my 07 1200GS. The dealer says the hugger won't fit the new bike cos it'll foul the ESA 'magic box' when the suspension bottoms. Looking at the bike in the showroom I can see what they mean.
So, as a tight-fisted Yorkshireman, has anyone chopped a carbon-fibre hugger down to cope with this? Come to that, any advice on cutting carbon-fibre? Do you get left with rough edges?
Also, who does an oil cooler guard for the new GSA? Again, I'm told the Wunderlich one from my 07 1200Gs won't fit. (I've no idea how to get the bloody thing off anyway; it was fitted from new by the dealer.) Seems to me the Wunderlich one is the best on the market (made from a fine, stainless steel mesh); all the others appear to have big enough holes to give low flying insects easy access to the radiator grill.
Thoughts and advice please folks.
Cheers
