Would like some info on reducing spray off back wheel.
IE-Hugger, side rail panels or any others available.
I would like to keep the " open look " of the bike as much as i can.

Any comments on the products you have used much apretiated.

Hi Dave, see BMWbikebits Ilmberger internal hugger WL8160545 page8 in 1200gs section, this is the one for you it works a treat, cheers Aldy:thumb

I've got the now discontinued Motorad Concepts hugger, it does reduce the crap on the inside of the legs (the left was always dirtyest) but I still get quite a bit of spray on my legs/boots.

So only a partial solution.

BTW I have a spare Motorad concepts hugger if anyone wants one.

Thanks for your replys,:thumb2.
There seems to be no sure fiered way of stopping all the crap thrown up off the rear wheel, but with the products out there and the ingenious ways some of you have delt with it im sure i can reduce the spray.

I did the "Haul Road" this past summer on a '07 GSA. The only extra thing I wish I had on the bike prior to riding the Haul Road is this BestRest Products inner fender liner...about $80.00. Of course dummy me buys and installs after the trip...!:loco
Would of saved a lot of cleaning after the fact and provided a much needed protection from the rocks/stones/tar
.

I'm interested, how much?

Mike.

"internal hugger" from BMWBikeBits/Wunderlich---

Works a treat - not cheap but it does work,
Search "inner fender" for more detail

I also got the "internal hugger" or mud guard from Wunderlich. Installs in 5 min and works like a charm.:thumb The mud guard can hardly be noticed if you prefer the open frame. Will reduce the spray to the legs considerably, and no more dirt on the rear suspension.:D

Not much, make me an offer but postage/carraige might be expensive, I've got the box it came in but it's quite big, as you'd expect. I had one hugger, I complained that the tyre rubbed at the edge and they sent me another. I swapped them over and the new one was almost the same but I've left it on and some tyres rub others don't (just depends on the profile but I wouldn't recommend it for knobblies).

Can I have second dabs if Boxertools doesn't take you up please?

No problems , it was back in November that Boxertools asked so he may not be interested any more. I'm not subscribed- never got round to it and hardly ever log on nowadays so PMs don't work but you can email me on [email protected]

splash/shock guard

Fitted Wunderlichs Splash/shock guard today rode to work and lo and behold a dry left foot works well and as others have said it is a doddle to fit may seem a tad expensive at £99.00 but having suffered the dreaded wet left foot syndrome it is well worth it.:thumb2
