Ok ladies, and you know who I mean... 19,20th 21st, 22nd ish July 2009. Next year.

Who's up for it?

ROAD OR OFF ROAD

For anybody interested, there will also be a HUMM in Andalucia in September. It's in the planning stages and is currently being 'advertised' as a one day special event at the HU Spain meeting, but having already earmarked more than 300kms off-road trails and 300kms on-road twisties, it's looking more like a two-day event.

I did a bit of a promo video a couple of weeks ago for the 'nursery' trails, but YouTube is down for maintenance atm so I'll post the link later (spot the UKGSer moderator on the video). I'm working on a video for some more technical trails but this event will be a big trailie friendly and knobblies will not be required.

A couple of linkeys - http://picasaweb.google.com/Smokin.Lizard/HUMMAndalucia2009ProposedTrails# and http://horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/hu-travellers-meetings-other-parts/humm-andalucia-hu-spain-2009-a-38252 for info.

id possibly be interested

but willnt know for a week or two

not done anything like this before

so a few questions

are knobblies needed?

would we ride down? if so long how long does it take?

and what do i need to take

put really looking forward to a adventure

For the HUMM Andalucia 2009 event:

  • Knobblies are not required.
  • All the trails should be rideable on a GS1200 Adventure (although the route has not yet been finalised).
  • Transport - one option we are hoping to offer is to transport your bikes down to Malaga. You fly in on a cheap flight and collect your bike close to the airport. The cost of doing this is competitively priced with the cost of the ferry, petrol, accommodation, food, wear & tear etc. The plus side is, you get to spend more time riding the trails. This event will run concurrently with the HU Spain meeting, making it a 5 day event.
  • All you need to bring are basic essentials, your bike, riding gear and a sense of adventure.

I anticipate ferry Plymouth to Santander, one night in Picos then shoot across to Pyrenees, ride back thru france or ferry back depending on consensus.

Second that:thumb

Trailering the bike down:eek::eek: Never heard such nonsense:augie Not a bad idea though for those with smaller, unreliable types like KTM`s :hide but definately not my cup of tea:D

I'm up for this, and keen to hook with someone to do it with as you need to be in pairs. I gather the organisers can pair up the singlies, but would be good to know who doing it with first...

Keen to at least get my place on the event booked with my r1200gsa.

Doing the bmw off road thingy again the w/e before which may come in handy

Am up for the big bike 'fun' category as opposed to the 'serious must win'

My rough plan - ride down from London for an extra long weekend, maybe for the week.

Unfortunately school terms have been published for me now and this makes it unfeasable for me this year, shame really, was hoping to take the ttr down this year, oh well....

Theres a very slight chance that i might go during the 6 week summer break as i know most of the trails from last year. I won't know untill closer to the time.
