I find that if I put a decent amount of water in the hydration bladder of my BMW twat suit it pulls on my neck and shoulders. Has anybody mounted a hydration bladder to the bike itself? 2015 GSA.

I’ve recently purchased a Helite Touring jacket so don’t want to compromise it’s explosive potential with a camel back. Boom, splash!

The problem is that the weight rests on your shoulder. The top line jacket from Klim has a harness that secures the jacket to your body and hence anything you carry in the jacket is weighed through the harness. It also has a pocket for a hydration bladder. Kriega or Camelbak is much more convenient. The rapid inflation of the collar would push the shoulder straps to one side. I wouldn't worry about bladder as by that time the jacket inflates your kit will be fucked anyway.

But if I ask myself what will I be more likely to use, the Camelbak or inflation vest then the answer is the Camelbak and hence it has a preference above an inflatable vest. Invest in some training if you think the risk of becoming a cropper is too much. There is only so much protective kit will do for you.
