I changed the clutch about 2 years ago and despite having changed clutch fluid a couple of times since, there has never been any noticeable play in the lever since the clutch was changed. i.e tension felt at lever as soon as it is operated and clutch starts to disengage after less than half inch of lever travel (measured at the ball end of lever). Clutch fluid levels are as they should be i.e not overfilled and clutch plate has done 8000 miles (though has been like this since sitting new unit). The clutch shows no signs of slipping.
I can't find any reference data for hydraulic clutches and therefore can't decide whether I am worrying unecessarily. Other bikes I have checked seem to have more play.
Can anyone please advise whether there is a problem here and if so what is likely to be causing it?
Any suggestions gratefully received!

I think

you might be worrying unnecessarily, due to the way a hydraulic clutch operates there will be a minimum of free-play at the lever. As long as it works and does not slip then just ride it.

Thanks for the reply, ..those tend to be my thoughts as well but I couldn't help wondering if I was missing something along the way!
