I plan to do a lot of work on my 95 GS in '04-so I wanted a lifting table to help out. Couldn't get hold of a second hand one anywhere-people seem to hang onto them. Didn't want to pay £400 plus for something huge I couldn't move around in the garage. The answer was a Viking GB lifting table. Plenty big enough for the GS-moves around on a pair of wheels-weighs about 200lbs-you wouldn't want to move it every ten minutes-but it is definitely storable/moveable in the garage. The other thing I liked was that it uses a car jack for the hydraulics-cheap effective-and easily replaced in years to come if anything goes wrong. Comes with a loading ramp- and you can get a front wheel clamp if you want to- but I find strapping it down at the front is all you need to keep it rock solid in the air. Lifts bike up to 32 inches-and is lockable in 3 or 4 positions. Top bit of kit for £269 I think. It is amazing the different view you get of your bike at that height-and much easier to work on practically anything including cleaning.
