I'd normally be happy to give it a go as I am pretty handy but the thought of cocking up my electrics is what scares me, especially as I start commuting on it again in a week. The wire with the sat-nav is naked so that put me off. If it was already fitted with a male/female connect (the nav cable) then I would have been comfortable.
Could i pick these connectors up somewhere like Maplins? And Can anyone recommend anything on You Tube perhaps! Something which gives me pointers? Some say the connect is just in front of the tank although not a biggie if I have to take it off. Guess it helps to know what you are looking for though. I know, what a tart, eh? Lmao.
Any car accessory shop, say halfords, sell auto electric connectors. Just crimp them on with a pair of pliars, easy.
If your female then youve really no excuse as your wee hands will find it so much easier finding a route for the cable.
Your battery is under the seat, no need to fanny about with the tank, just take the seat off, a phillips screwdriver to undo the two leads from the battery, take the black one (negative) off first, and reconnect in same order, black then red. Feck if your nearer I'd come and do it mself
