Hello,

i am a new member of this Forum. Packing the BMW System Case is terribly and my Problem!

I am looking for inside Pictures of packed BMW System Cases (panniers). Please show me your equipment - clothes, stove, chair....

Thanks a lot
Uwe

Hi there Uwe .... 56 people have viewed your request and not one answer

It is a bit of a daft question though, and can't really understand your problem. Pack your clothes in a number of plastic bags (supermarket etc) and just pack them neatly in to the panniers, as you would a suitcase. For stoves and other hard stuff just pack and try to get in as much as possible using the various shapes just like a jigsaw.

Keep any heavy items to the bottom of the pannier, and equally distributed side to side.

Put all the money you're taking on the table, and all your clothes on the bed.... now double your money and half your clothes :thumb

Just pack and go ... you'll soon learn what should go where and how

More serious things to worry about my friend... like where's the next bier

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Don't bother packing stuff that well, best way is loose - your most frequent stuff floats at the top. It's not a military operation. :thumb2

I still remember Dirtydog spending 15mins repacking his 1150 panniers. What a feck on.

You will use half as much as what you take.
We didnt return with half of this... This was for a 5 week trip.. we dumped half of it before we came back......

ENJOY YOUR TRIPS LOL

TIP: GET YOURSELF TO STAPLES AND BUY A FEW ZIP LOCK A4 BAGS, KEEP STUFF TOGETHER AND WATERPROOF....

I use vacuum storage bags- they are readily available at department stores. Simply pack your clothes into them, place them in the panniers then use a vacuum cleaner to remove all the air whilst moulding the bags into the lumps and bumps of the panniers.

I can manage to get two weeks worth of clothes for me and the Mrs in them- no good if you are camping, but if you are in hotels they work a treat.

Should we start a game "what was dropped"?

Black BMW System Panniers...

Hello!

Thanks a lot for your answers. You are very helpful!:D :D :D

The Challenge is - to pack the Panniers that nothing falls out if you open it.
The Panniers are so cleft..., but i like the appearance.
Alu Panniers are better, but it looks like Fridges, in my Opinion :P :(

Stove, petrol, Pots and other hardware is difficult to accommodate...

Clothes: I use functional and Fleece laundry. This is no Problem!

The tip with smaller unities in bags is good!! I'll try this. Now I have good idea to the use of my helmet bags.

EDIT: For Hotel overnight, we use self made Innerbags.

packing cases

before you go ring my missus she can get everything and anything in a bmw case.
she loaded so much stuff into our panniers i couldn't get the bike off the stand.
like it says in earlier thread most of it will not be used.
clothes down to basic minium.
we put all our stuff in bin bags.
i had a seriously big heavy tent as well strapped to the top box
put cargo nets on the top of the boxes to keep mini sleeping bags

best of luck

I don't have a picture to hand, and assume you are describing the Vario cases in your question.
Inside the Vario, there are plastic tabs for holding the expander bar in either of it's two positions. I have fastened a zip tie loosely through the 4 of these so that they don't impede the expander, then threaded an elastic cord through them to form a retainer. This keeps everything inside the pannier when you open the lid.
I second the other replies about zip-lock bags and taking half the stuff you think you need.
