Been looking at getting a satnav for my GSA for a while.
I first wanted a TT Rider, then after reading on here, decided to get a Zumo 550 instead, but after looking a costs compared to the TT Rider I went back to the Rider.
After many failed attempts trying to buy one (being ripped off for postage by amazon, or will only deliver to card address etc etc), I went back to wanting a Zumo.
I was in my local BMW dealer and had a chat with the service manager and he said he would supply - and fit - a Zumo 550 to my GSA for £395.00, free fitting. :thumb2:D
Seeing as they are about £370 to buy (plus postage) I think I have got a right result.

Does anyone know where I can download some UK routes?

arghhh... good job it was a deal.
Went to dealer yesterday to get my new Zumo supplied & fitted.
45 mins later a young lad came back saying "all done", I went to have a look and.....
I couldnt get the Zumo off the bracket becuase the paddle release was hitting the screen.
The screen bar was covered in scratches from the fitting.
The bolts that held the cradle to the bracket were too long and had been wound into the screen bar preventing the bracket from being moved (to get Zumo off) and had removed all the paint etc.

I went mental :spitfire... how hard can it be???
The service manager did say "what can I say, I'm sorry" he did make slightly good by not charging me for the BMW £30 bracket.
Now I have to go back again to get a new screen bar fitted - more wasted time sitting in the cafe when I should be out riding.
No wonder I don't trust anyone to work on my bikes, I will do all my own work in future.

They always give those jobs to the apprentice.

I did notice that the paint on the fairing bar is very flimsy when I fitted my GPS to a rental in the USA last year.

You rented a BMW after all you've had to say about them, wassamatta no one hiring Trumpets in the States then :jes

Ha, ha.
Triumphs are available over there but not Tigers. It is easier to find WMBs for hire around the world. At least if it goes wrong I don't have to pay for it.
I have to say that it was very comfortable over the 3200 miles I did on it but I'd never want to own one. One bad thing that stood out was the amount of transmission snatch. Worse than a VERY loose chain. That combined with the torque reaction and a sudden clutch pick-up made traffic riding a bucking bronco affair.

I was going to say "25 quid to fix? I fitted my quest in about half an hour!" but thought best not to, turns out I might have been correct. Sorry to hear your bike has been butchered. I wrapped gaffer tape and foam around my screen support, not pretty but I was determined not to damage anything.

I hope yours comes back as good as new! :thumb2

Pretty shoddy job then. No excuse for scratches as the mount comes with a piece of 3M type clear protection piece to fit to the crossbar.

I got my 550 from Halfords for £333 with next day delivery.

They had a 10% off everything online weekend about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Fitted it myself to my migsel mount in oh..... 20 seconds without any damage  :D

Jon :beerjug:
