As it is still a bit chilly at the moment, I am thinking about some heated grips.

Don't do it, summer is coming up I hear you cry!

Thing is I am going to the Alps at the end of June and I just wondered if it is likely to be cold enough to wish I had them on those high passes.

Those of you who have been might be able to tell me I hope.

Thank you.

You'll probably be getting such a rush from just riding the roads that you wont even think about cold digits....;)

susten etc normally doesnt open until about june/july and as there was a massive amount of snow this year (one of the best ski seasons for about 10 years) it will be cold at the top of the passes due to the surrounding snow - the lake at the grimsel was frozen solid until about end of august.

heated grips or just slightly thicker gloves.

You shouldn't need heated grips in the Alps in June... You might be surprised how hot it can get, during the day that is.. If you plan to ride at night, take some winter gloves and thermal liners...
