The trusty GS, and I do mean trusty, an 04 bike on a 54 plate and the only problem I ever had was a flatish battery one winter morning, has gone.

It was getting on a bit in years and with the mileage upto 20k and the warrenty due to expire I thought I should change it, I was at the dealers (NOG) who are excellent, and saw the K1200R, well I've always wanted one so did the deal.

But now I miss it, so are saving up for an Adventure as I'll need something for the winter, or that black one, definitely want that black one.

Gone but not forgotten.

Nice Vid, Yellow, methinks a case of grass is greener eh!. Just as a matter of interest, where did you mount the Camcorder, was it behind the screen,? Didn't appear to be much windnoise! Thinking of doing something similar, would be interested :thumb

Great Vid

Great Video.
But the Fecking Roadworks 4.5 mins in
thought i was back on M5 :(
Sounds great, your going to miss that bike a lot :mmmm
BTW what rubber were you using??? as the grip seems amazing :thumb

Oh Boy....Fantastic video.... :thumb ... what time of day did you get up to have a clear run at it like that... :D

I've been saying it for tooooo long... I really do have to make it to the Ring this year... :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

...as for the K12R... its a cracking bike... enjoy it... and then look forward to getting your 12GSA... easy... :nenau :D

Used a bullet cam mounted via a ram arm mount, fixed a U bolt onto the screen brace then the ram arm just outside screen (RAM-B-149Z). Have an Xtreme mount from helmetcamera.com for the bullet cam.

Linked up to an old Cannon camcorder with a lanc controller, tried an Archos PVR but it didn't like the heat, found you can power the bullet cam via the power socket with no interference on the BM's.

Had mounted the bullet cam behind the screen but got a reflection from the screen so found it better to mount it in clean air.

Love that black bike.

It was September 2005 and because of the tourance shortage earlier in the year I was on Anakee's, I remember being a bit worried about them but looking back they were very well behaved.

I'm missing it already, seems wrong to own a garage and not have one in it.

It was an evening session in September 2005, the track was open 5.15 to 7.15 we had been in Germany for a jolly and stopped by on the way back, got very lucky and had 5 very clear laps, the video is lap 5 at about 6.30ish.

The K12R is great fun for the summer and hope to get back to the ring this year.

How long since you were at school Jon. 04 bike and its only 06 now? :goof

I'd make his bike less than 2 years old as a 54 plate is August 04 at the earliest. :thumb

Yellow......

Interesting thread, lucky enough to ride my mates sports bikes anytime :thumb Out last night and rode a RSV Mille, superb bike but after the 50 miles'ish ride got back on my GS12 it was then I realised what a machine it is!

Like you did I go to the local BM dealer and see the K1200S, R etc and think nice! :clap But as last night you never truly lose the buzz of a GS, :bounce1 that's all the GS versions!

Hope the :bow 12 Adv comes soon,

TD
