After having various problems with my GS I thought I would invite more trouble and get another BM so one K1200LT was got.

Now after one trip across Europe the screen is top the seat is top, the luggage is top, the radio is top, the tank range is top, brakes top, price top now !

its now in a thousand pieces to fix it, why the throttle is so stiff I am like a fiddler crab and my arm hurts typing this.

Over 40 screws and bolts 20 electrical conectors the fuel tank, seat, radio, fuel rail, fan cover, handle bar cover. right hand instrument cluster all this to remove the throttle cables !!!!!! and in 35 degree heat !!!

Asked a mate for a loan of his 1100gs to get the new bits and guess what final drive seal was leaking oil everywhere so had to take that apart !

Friends with varedero 50,000km trouble free, a hyonsong 650 15,000km in 8 months trouble free, Wildstars, Africas, VN900s and Transalps all are taking the piss constantly

oh and same day refilled preload adjusters on a F650 and a 6,000km R1200C both very empty

is it me or what ?
 
No...it's the LT.

Dealer mechanics hate them, for exactly the reasons you list...they're such a pig to work on :(
