:thumb Done a search, sent a pm to the person who commented on this before, but thought I would see if there were others now!

i-mate Jam - being offered one as a replacement for my mobile phone, which was dying in Africa, and is now officially dead.
i-mate has a large screen, which I need 'cos I do not wear the varifocals all the time. Touch sensitive screen, saves time. Handy size, so you do not look like a pillock with this thing pressed to your ear. Is expandable with cards, some of which I already have. Plays MP3's and has a 1.3 mpixel camera (which does not really impress me.) Is a phone and a handheld - reading the blurb the processor in it is about the same speed as my desktop processor, hey ho!
Downside is that the technology is over a year old - although this one is brand new, only taken out the of the baox in the shop. But are there other ones out there that might be better. I get this unit for free on a £25 pm contract (roughly what I'm payin now.)

Have one to play with over the weekend, but goes back on Monday. Any suggestions, comments or testimonies would not be rejected (as long as they are relevant to the issue in hand.)
TIA :thumb

Nice little phone/PDA, and runs TomTom very well. However, I'd recommend you try its successor, the i-mate k-jam, which is the same length & width but a little thicker, but has a slide out keyboard which is v.good for texting & writing short emails.

It's also faster than the old jam.
