I've two very important questions about Ipods.

1. I bought a Ipod nano (the last model) from on here for my dad as a present, but when I've come to load all the music up to it.The IPod says its formated to apple and needs reformatting, when I have done this it then says its corrupted.

2. I have an U2 IPod that was loaded to my laptop, when my laptop crashed we had to restore everything from scratch. I know can't plug my IPod in to itunes as it wants to wipe all the music from my IPod. would be very greatful if someone knows how to reinstall all my music from my IPod back on to itunes.

Hi,

Normally to reformat, it is available on the main page, of itunes .it just clear the ipod and puts back on the sinc selection. also if you hold the play and middle button down on the ipod it reboots the unit. Try that,

the second point, more of a problem, as the music to my knowledge can not be uploaded from the ipod, as the computer is the storage unit. I think that is why its suggested to back up your music every so often, I would like to be wrong for you, but i do not think i am.

hope this helps.

I have the exact same problem and have tried holding he buttons down but its still the same.

Kate,

1. You should be able to reset the nano to its original settings. If you go to the main menu - settings- Reset Settings it should put it back to original

2. There are loads of ways you can transfer music from your ipod to a computer. Try this site ipod hacks - excellent info/downloads on there

does it re boot when you hold the two buttons down.

My son was having problems with his, I know there are a few apple stores around, you can book to get your unit looked at one day in advance. do it via the net for the next day,

He went to the one in London. It got replaced in the end.

Tried the suggestions and in the end took it back to an apple shop and one of the tech guys reformatted it to windows and said it should work when we plug it back in, but its doing the same thing as it did before the trip to apple in Sheffield. Bloody great will have to go again... :spitfire:spitfire:spitfire

Thank you for all your help and suggestions :aidan
