Why is there a shock absorber spanner in the 1150GS toolbox?

Is there ANYONE that has ever used it? What were the circumstances?

Is it in all the BMW toolboxes?

Have we been missing a trick somewhere?

It's a bit lovely outside and have had an early iced cider, whilst taking the bike to bits with L, which prompted a discussion about the usefulness of the toolkit.... maybe that's a different thread though....

I used/use it to adjust my front shock preload and would probably use it again if I had a pillock onboard.

mine doesnt have one but a friendly tyre man yesterday gave me his second spare whilst fitting my TKC's.

I use mine to adjust preload on the front when off roading and pillioningngg (2nd setting std, 5th notch off roadinggg)
