iCloud & Photostream

Since loading the new OS on my iPhone I've signed up to iCloud.

Now when I receive or take pictures it creates a 2nd identical photo album on my phone. Also an album containing the same pictures appears on my laptop.

Soooooo.................I delete the album on my laptop. I disable Photostream on the iCloud.

All good, except......................

I can not delete the album or individula pictures in the 2nd album on my phone.

If I re-enable Photostream the pictures come bac onto my laptop.

My understanding is that once on the cloud the pictures are there for ever which ain't great but I can live with that but, how do I get rid of the 2nd album on my iPhone?

i thought you could turn photostream off on individual devices. Settings>Photos>Photo Stream on/off. does that not delete the album?

you can't delete individual pics anywhere, it's all or nothing. i would expect that to change, as there has been a lot of call for that to be possible.

If you sign into the icloud you will see icons across the screen (mail etc), in the top right corner you will see your name or user ID, click on this and an account box comes up.

click advanced and you have an option to reset photo stream which removes photos from the cloud.

Photo stream is off on my phone & on my laptop and the album is still there on my phone and being updated with every piccie I take?

if, on my iPhone, i go Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream>Off then my photo stream album in Photos on the phone is deleted.

this seems to be a duplication of the setting i mentioned in my earlier post.

I had the same last week - I think all I did was turn photostream off via icloud and maybe also turned phone off/on

Right...................

Sync'd my phone. Turned off Photostream (again) in the PC and in Photos & iCloud Settings on the phone and it no longer bungs photos in the Photstream folder on my phone or on the PC

I have now deleted my poxy iCloud account

I STILL can not get rid of the Photostream folder of photos on my phone though
