I looking into getting a new jacket. I have an old Frank Thomas aqua something and had it for nearly 10 years with little to no problems, buts its showing its age now. I want a jacket thats going to keep out the water, keep me warm, and light enough to wear in the summer and touring through europe..... ive looked at Hein Gericke, and i like the Journey GTX andTRG Rallye GTX.... frank thomas x terrain and raptor look good too, i have the raptor jeans and they have been good, just way too hot. i also like the BMW Rallye pro stuff.... what do you guys use/recomend

help please

thanks :thumb2

Rukka, although the top of the range is an absolute fortune the lower end is comparable prices to some of the jackets you have listed, and they still come with the 5 year warranty and they will even supply you with a loan jacket whilst yours is being repaired.

Hope this helps

Cheers Tom

just had a look at the Rukka stuff... nice but nothing looked like i wanted to spend my money on it...

what about Bikers suzuka jacket? or Richa Spirit C Change Jacket?

How about the Rev'It Cayenne Pro?

Quite a few happy customers around

I've had an H-G GTX suit for about four years, done thousands of miles all year 'round and it's kept me warm and dry. The liner comes out easy, there's plenty of vents, pants/jacket are easy to zip together and all in all it's been a great buy.The trousers are still O.K. but the jacket's just starting to wear through at the forearms and 'round the pockets. It's had some stick though.
I'd recommend 'em to anyone.
Having said that,I've replaced it with a Rallye Pro2. Very pleased with it so far, good fit, good pliable and adjustable armour and a bit of discount from the dealer. I'm off to Scotland at the weekend and the weather forecast is crap,so we'll see how it performs in whatever the Highlands can fling at us. :D

Six hours to Aviemore on Friday in heavy rain, light showers, high winds,a bit more rain, drizzle, more wind and..........did I mention the rain?
All day Saturday trundling around up the coast. It was raining.
Six hours to home on Sunday. Cold up in Aviemore at 6am yesterday. Sun came out about 70 miles from home.
Me? Warm and dry in my new Tw@ suit.
Minor nit-picks, could be a bit higher up around the collar and the transparent pocket on the sleeve is'nt waterproof so no folding money or recreational narcotics in there then.
As for looking like a Tw@, I was at a rally with a couple of thousand H-D people so the chances of blending in to the background were slimmer than Ghandi's whippet.
A BIG up for German army surplus para boots, £19 from the local Armani and Navy stores. Fantastic bit of kit.

Aerostich Darien. Superb build quality, loads of practical features, comfortable in any conditions anyone would want to ride in and brilliant customer service. I've had mine 4 years now and use it from everything from a quick trip to the shops to touring round Europe. Ted Simons chose one for his epic 'Jupiter Revisited' trip. The manufacturers claim these will out-perform anything you've worn before and I believe them. Two downsides: they're not cheap and if you're unlucky customs duty will add an extra £90 or so to the cost, but still well worth it IMHO

Had loads of Dainese combo's... trousers always leaked, jackets eventually leaked...

Had a Twat suit.. in heavy rain got soaked to the skin :(

Aerostich... good but not that warm when the temperature dropped.....

Now got a Hein Gericke Master V suit in one of their promo's.. got 20% off..

Probably the best kit I've ever owned... and I've had quite a bit ;)

Only one besides that I'd fancy again is another 'stich ...
