I'm looking at ideas for new foot pegs for my Dakar. I'd like wider and slightly longer ones.
I've seen plenty on the market but would like some advice from people that have used them.

Is a rubber center essential for road riding or is plain metal okay?
Is the fact that I'm over 24 stone when fully kitted going to make a difference, would I need to get the bracket strengthened to stand on the pegs safely?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a pair of TT Rallye footrests and mounts. Check back through the for sale section:thumb

I find that it depends on your boots, my smooth soled TCX boots sometimes slip a bit on the plain metal if it is wet but my chunky Sidi Couriers are fine.
Max load on a Dakar is 187 kg so the pegs should be strong enough.

I have a set of fastway foot pegs, much wider than stock and makes standing so much easier, no rubber on them at all and no issues with vibrations.:thumb2

If i was in the market for a set of footpegs now I'd buy Tims rallye set-up :thumb2

It does move the pegs back by 2 inches from stock btw :D

if they are still available at the end of the month I'll be buying them :D
