IDIOT QUESTION - NIGHT MODE 2610

See page 39 of the user manual (revision C, December 2005, which is the most recent issue), under the heading 'Colour Mode'. If you don't have a user manual handy, you can download one here: StreetPilot 2610 - click on the tab entitled 'Manuals' in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

PS -A tip to everyone else who has a 26xx series GPSR: The software for the 26xx evolved considerably between the time the first 2610 was released in the summer of 2004, and the time the last major software update was released at the end of 2005. The most current revision of the 26xx series owner manual is Revision C, which was released in December of 2005. If you don't already have this version of the owner manual in printed format, it would probably be worth your while to download it and browse through it - chances are, you might find some new features explained in the latest manual version that you were unaware of.

Haven't had a chance to look, but does the website give an updated manual for Mapsource as well?

I know there have been a few changes since I bought my 2610, eg the new Tracklog Toolbar etc, so that manual will be out of date now as well.

Yes, the most recent MapSource manual is revision C, July 2005. You can download it here: MapSource Manual The online help file that comes with the current version of MapSource (just go to the HELP menu across the top) is also pretty useful, if you browse through it from front to back - it is a summary of the user manual, much the same content, but a faster read.

Hey Ho!!!!

Many thanks Mr Pan.

I was silly enough to be trying to find the otion under the display settings and not the map settings.

I have enough trouble with English without having to try to learn Garmin.

Dick:

If you would prefer to have the GPSR display text prompts in a different language, you can change the language used for the both the text display and the voice prompts. The procedure for doing that is described on page 53 of the manual. About 12 different languages are supported, both for text display and for voice prompts.
