This is what they’d do.

A fully collapsible motorcycle trailer and how I came to own it.

My Honda Blackbird’s rectifier cooked itself in Chelmsford, so I called the AA. The AA man agreed there was nothing to be done on the roadside, saying “I’ll put the bike onto the trailer and take it to wherever you need it to go”. I was just about to blurt out, that the idiot didn’t have a trailer, when he went to the back of his van and pulled out what seemed to be some kind of coffin type trunk on runners. Intrigued, I watched. In short, the trunk contained a fully collapsible motorcycle trailer. He quickly put it together. I asked the fellow if the trailers were any good. In a word or two he confirmed that the AA / RAC used them regularly and had no problem with them. Why:

A. Quick to assemble / disassemble.

B. Well made and strong, with no flimsy or unreliable parts.

C. Easy and reliable to load the bike onto and take off again, due to the integral cradle and winch.

D. Towable behind a conventional car / small van or a full blown recovery truck

E. Collapsed size reasonably small.

F. Capable of carrying a full blown large motorcycle, up to and including a full blown Pan European with all the bells and whistles.

Intrigued, I looked at the trailer and spotted the maker’s name, address (in, as I recall, Blackpool) and phone number which I noted down. I called them on Monday. They explained that they were usually trade manufacturers only but would sell me one. I bought it then and there, it being deliver to home within a couple of weeks. In short, it’s been excellent. Why?

A. Collapsed, I have carried it in a car as small as an 04 registered VW Golf and a 65 registered VW Polo.

B. It is easy to assemble / disassemble, solo.

C. It is capable of carrying my 1600, a big and heavy motorcycle with ease.

D. The cradle and winch makes the loading and unloading of any motorcycle safe and easy. It really is a one man job.

E. The cradle helps to keep the bike completely stable during transit, aided by just a couple support straps.

F. The cradle is easily adjustable to cater for front wheels of different sizes.

Specifics:

1. Complete and in very good condition. In short, used but not abused.

2. When not in use, I have kept it disassembled in my small garage. It has not sat outside in the elements.

3. Locking tow hitch.

4. Spare wheel and tyre, both unused.

I am happy (within reason) to deliver within a 100 mile radius of London and / or to meet someone at the edge of the radius to handover.

£650 delivered.

Thank you.

Fantastic, strong, bombproof trailers. I have one in my garage which I rarely use but every time I consider selling I decide I’d regret it. I once had my K1600 recovered by the AA (switchgear failure) and the guy had one of these with all of the “joints” welded up so it wasn’t collapsible. He preferred if to a normal non-collapsible trailer as it’s so easy to load and unload with the winch.

This is an excellent price. GLWS

Very handy and cracking bit of kit Richard, be gone in a flash 👌

However, your delivery radius include Boulogne-sur-mer, expect a French offer 😱🤣

Hence the, within reason :D

:beerjug:

PS If there happens to be someone in the Pas de Calais region that wants it, I’m sure we can come to a mutually acceptable basis of sale.

I have the exact same trailer but in White :) Best bit of kit I've ever seen for carting motorcycles around - will carry anything :) and at that price is an absolute steal !!!
