Seeing as you are just back from India why not try a ride through to Egypt. Some lovely countries to go through. But avoid Israel if you want to move on from Egypt as no one will let you in with a Visa stamp in yer passport.

The sudan looks very interesting also.

Happy dreaming.

Hiya Celt. Followed your threads and travels. Very impressive. Have you ever considered riding as close to the north pole as is possible? Bit like that Top Gear special that was on?

I have not entered Israel via any other borders, but they do oblige if you ask not to have your passport stamped at the airport.

I had reservations about Israel as I've heard a lot of bad reports from people travelling there (including my sister who did a 2 month middle east solo tour and it was the obly country she didn't like).

I spend 2 weeks there last year and managed to spend a day in Jereuselem and it's one place I'd really like to revisit on the bike..

Oh, don't worry about the Visa thing.. They stamp it on a removable piece of paper.

....But I think China might interest me... All I need to do is find the free time and quids..

If you time it right you can get quite far north. A friend of mine did it in a jeep but got scared at a certain point. Fairly deserted up there though. Can't imagine spares being readily available.
