Re previous thread where engine wouldn't switch off, recovery took it to dealers where the fault dissapeared. Diagnostic showed no faults, engine starts and stops on the key, BMW technical dept tell the dealer to give it back to the customer and see if it does it again.:nenau
Has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks people,on phone to BMW customer services today, said they had never heard of this problem before. :augie

Without even bothering to read any other threads, it's the ignition switch wiring loom, and a well-known issue.

Now I'm off to read the other threads to make sure I'm right :augie

My major worry on taking it away from dealers to see if it does it again, is it may decide to turn itself off while riding it. Cutting out going round a wet roundabout at rush hour doesnt bear thinking about.

Phone call from dealers this morning, they have spoken to other dealers and there have been previous cases of ign. switch failure so have ordered a new part and lent me a r1200r at their cost.:clap
BMW customer services prepared to let customer take bike away with intermittent fault saying if there was a problem then they would have issued a recall.:mcgun

Most excellent customer service from...Williams Manchester.:thumb2
