It seem that my ignition barrell has failed ,inso far as u can now start the bike with a flat head screw driver. My question is this have any of u had any xperiance removeing the actual barrell. Now i have investigated this and have come to a halt on the two nut,s that hold the barrell in place, the ones that are connected to the bottom of the top yoke,it seems that they are security nuts?is my only way out of this to use a nut xtractor ?or is there a special tool.

Iv'e just done this very job ,and I'm afraid it's the stud extractor method. They are fairly tight but should come before you snap the easyout! You then need replacement pins for the lock, or use capheads and fill the heads with epoxy.

If you have not already got the answer.
I am just doing the same job on my wife's R1100R and I'm afraid that the top yoke has to be removed to be able to drill the bolts out. This means removing the tank and handel bars.
