Apologies now but I don't own my GS yet, I'm looking to buy my mates 95 R1100 and just as I go to buy it we have encountered this wee problem.

The problem is that the bike runs very well for 20 minutes from cold, then will not hold an idle and cuts out at every traffic light after it gets warm. The bike has had a new ignition coil and throttle rebalance.

Has anyone else experienced this? All answes at this point wuld be gratefully received.

Cheers

Cutting out

Make sure the petrol tank vent is not blocked, ride it with the petrol cap undone and see if this helps. A friend had this problem and this was the answer, also check / renew the fuel filter.

Why has a new coil been fitted ?. Was it to solve the problem you still have ???

Maybe needs setting up on the TPS and CO pot to make sure the fuelling is correct.

Do that, and then see what happens.

But make sure the basics are correct first before looking elsewhere for problems.

sorry now, forgive my general ignorance here but what is a TPS and a Co pot?

Thats what i thought.

Go and see someone who knows about these bikes. You'll end up saving money and time.

Howya Chris,
Over in the Irish Section you'll find a thread called Useful Numbers and Services, if you're not too sensitive to abuse and the odd roar, GrumpyOne should be able to sort ya.
