I'm here now.

And I followed you over to see all the pics, got a few strokers myself, what did you get in the end, don't keep us waiting :) (haven't got a Kwaker triple yet though)

oh well never mind  :D

Nice purchase

They really are the most addictive form of transport I have ever known :clap

As mark Twain said "Buy land they are not making it any more" , sentiment has to be true of strokers , especially large displacement 500 and above. Great investment. Im going to Stafford next week for some tank licking !

Here we are

Just had a little ride, smooth, no rattles, everything works, very pleased so far. afew bits are wrong/rusty etc and the pic makes it look better than it really is but still not bad for 36 years old.

Reliving my youth Mark, I had a GT550K (1973) when I was 17. The stripdown has begun, think I'll just do the bits needed this winter, needs forks rechroming and new seals, carbs stripping and cleaning etc. I'll Leave the engine and frame alone as it looks to have never been out and it's running sweet.

Lovely bike you have there.

I had two 550s, and they were very much overshadowed by the kettle at the time, although the 550 must have been just as quick if not faster due to its lack of weight.

If I'm correct wasn't the black side panel much later, the A was painted?
Exhausts look in good nick.

Looks like you are going to have some fun. Thanks for sharing.

Yep a lot of the bits on it are from a B model, exhausts are solid but chrome flaking, the headlight shell and mountings should be chrome, indicators etc etc but everything is working so I'll try and source the correct bits over time, no rush
