Im looking for new bike clothes

I've just bought new riding kit and after a bit of research went to Infinity and cut a deal on Rukka kit. I've got a 'Steel' jacket & Protech trousers. They are pricey but excellent in terms of fit and performance. They've already been through a few downpours with no problems and the armour feels very good.

I did consider the Streetguard 2 kit & the Rallye 2 but decided against them as the Rukka fitted me better.

Before that I've been using various HG kit. Like most of us I ride all year round and I found that even when washed and retreated the HG kit was good for the first winter, so-so for the second winter and by the third wasn't waterproof at all. Also, as has been mentioned, zips have been a weak spot & the outer material wears through and eventually holes.

At the moment I'm riding with the thermal inner in the jacket and it's nice and warm over normal clothes. I haven't fitted the inners to the trousers as they're warm enough so far.

Good kit :thumb

BM Stuff

I had the Tuareg gear but found that with the liners in it was too hot in the summer. You can take out the liners but then it's no longer waterproof. I also found that the neck was a bit too tight to wear a cold killer under comfortably. The trousers are great and for the money I don't think you could do much better but after using my recently aquired savannah II stuff I would say if you can afford it get the BM gear as it's great. With decent fleece and thermal it's warm in winter and has loads of vents to keep you cool with the liners in in summer. :thumb

rukka, got mine on ebay £180 priced in gay excess at £760
the best kit i ever had, along with daytona boots the biz
the rukka is still under warranty and will remain so as i use to work in gay excess, ha ha

the wife has just bought me a set of frank thomas aqua force jacket/pants from j & s £130 on offer(50%off). zip together/removeable lining/armourd and zippy vents .up to now 100% water & wind proof used in -1 round wales for 200 mile blart out and still toasty when got home.

Tuareg

Had a the Tuareg kit since 1999... all till in open piece, still water proof (as long as wash with nixwax wash) - pockets do leak, but never worried me.
I'd buy again - but who knows when, the stuff keeps on working.

Suit

I have had my HG Voyager jacket for about 2 1/2 years. I do a 70 mile a day commute all year round. The jacket is brilliant, 100% waterproof, has a detachable storm collar makes it's v warm around the neck. During the winter i have the supplied liner and wear a t-shirt under it. Summer use probably too warm really.

I usually wear long sleeved high viz over the top, so has helped to keep it tip top. But usually just give it a wash in Tech wash once or twice a year.
No failures yet.

On my legs i have a pair of Daianise goretex trousers with liners for winter use. Again all good and just put them in the machine with tech wash every so often.
