Told ya it might be too big when sitting at it................good choice IMHO.

Enjoy, they are great machines to use. :D

p.s.

Do a search on 'open office' it is the only word processor/spreadsheet/presentation/database etc type software I use and it is FREE.

Good luck.

Make sure you book them and get your moneys worth, its so easy to fogey and before you know it the year is up

You may find you can get Office via your NHS discount for around £12.

Contact your IT department for the details.

iWork: good programs, integrated into apple ecosystem, cheap and not M$.

if you can't source office at a reasonable price, then look at some of the virtualisation solutions available on the mac.

I use vmware but there are others.

In simple terms this allows me to run my PC (operating system and all installed applications including office, garmin map source, etc) on the mac, in the Apple operating system without having to dual boot the machine, alongside all the MAC software and at the same time :-)

Upon installing VMWARE it asked me did I want to import a pc, and it effectively did all the hard work, all you need is your original PC connected to the network. This assumes that your dying PC is still alive(ish)

Strangely the PC running inside the MAC runs some of the games that I gave that wouldn't run on the pC due to old hard are better than the PC did……..

This was a great solution as it allowed SWMBO to continue with the PC (inside the mac) without interruption and a massive learning hurdle, and a after a short while she picked up the mac, and now we no longer need to run the virtual PC/emulator.

Sorry for the ramble, but I hope this is clear - if not just shout if you want to know more.

Cheers

well the Os is taking some getting used to, prefer mouse to track pad at the moment.

Garmin maps to install cannot seem to to it

anyone sell me office for mac as struggling with open office?
