image editor for mac anyone?

i want a decent means of basic image editing. in windows terms, something more than irfanview, but not as complicated as photoshop.
my favourite was microsoft image editor TBH. did everything i wanted, pretty simple.

what do people recommend for os-x? i've played a bit with iPhoto, but it seems to be more about organisation, than editing.

maybe i'm missing something, but where's the clone brush 'frinstance?

pixelmator comes well recommended elswhere, but has anyone here used it?

I'd suggest the free but professional quality gimp or if you need 16 and 32 bit colour depth then I'd suggest the gimp variant cinepaint

I'd go with PE6 too, got fed up with Pixelmator as it's buggy, and designed to offload a lot of work to the GPU/CoreGraphics framework, which doesn't work so well with mini/macbook and their integrated GPUs.
