I have been up to Goathland a couple of times in the last couple of months . On a different Harley on each occasion .

After parking up i couldn`t get the bleddy Road King started again , the immobiliser would not turn off . A frantic 5 minuted passed and the immobiliser eventually worked , pheww !! a night on the North Yorkshire Moors was looking likely .

Yesterday i revisited the place on my Harley VRod , bleddy same thing happened again :tears

i assume this place has something to do with it . Has anyone else had this problem ?

It may well have been causing problems. I experienced it once in a particular spot where I couldn't get the immobiliser to disarm on a couple of different occasions.

It has been known for people to experience these problems in France quite a lot (roadside services particularly). It is apparently something to do with the radio frequencies used by the emergency services in France that interferes with the alarm/key fob etc.

Bear in mind you can set up your bike to turn off the alarm via your indicator switches using a code that you program in yourself. This means you don't have to rely on the keyfob in an emergency.

Yep, same thing happened to me at the same parking spot in Belfast several years ago. I reckon there was something around the building interfering with the alarm system. Security system? Second time I had to push the bike away from the side of the building to get the alarm to stop.

Very old problem....and well documented.....

Move the bike, and the problem disappears....Its the early warning system at Fylingdales (the golf balls) that does it.
