just looking for a little help.

I've finished editing a 45 min vid of a recent biking trip to France and just can not upload the thing onto my YouTube channel.

I have a verified Y/T account but each time I try the upload fails.

I am new to Imovie and YouTube so please be gentle.......

Thanks

In iMovie you have library and theatre. Once you've edited you clips in library I first upload it to theatre which gives me the option to put it in the cloud and hence view across Apple devices.

Once loaded in theatre I then use the share function which brings up a number of options including Youtube.

Works for me.

The above method works but is slow !
I find it quicker to save the I movie as a filing then go direct to you tube and then upload it using their uploader

How big is the file?
What compression settings are you exporting with?

As correctly stated in the comments above, you should come up with a decently sized mpeg file. If the file is too big and your home connection is not fast/stable enough, it might drop while uploading.
I've had some videos that took a good 10 hours to upload...

All sorted fellas. Took Redricks advise and converted to a Realtime file than uploaded using the Uploader no problem......... took blood hours tho.

Thanks

Rob

When you've finished editing it in iMovie just click on Share, then select File and choose to store it somewhere like Desktop, it will appear as an mp4 file ready to upload to youtube.
