I'm in the prosses of doing a few aterations to my R80 (ex RT) outfit. I'm thinking about increasing the ground clearence a little.

Is the RT swing arm the same length as the g/s swing arm?

I know they are different part numbers and the g/s has the shock mounted on the swing arm and the RT has it mounted on the FD, but was wondering if the g/s shock or moving the RT mount forward onto the swing arm would put too much of an angle on the out put shaft at the gearbox.

Monolever RT? In that case I know for sure that the swingarm is the same length.

Also, if you’re gonna mount a shock G/S style, I believe the shocks on the mono road bikes sit further outboard due to the different mounting arrangement.

That's good to know, thanks.

I know too that the g/s shock is mounted on the swing arm and the 80 mono's shock is mounted on the Final drive. So does that mean the mono and the g/s share the same shock and that it is simply mounted differently to give a higher ride hight? Something tell's me that's not the case though.

I was hoping I could simply fit a g/s shock to lift the RT an inch or so.
