Just wanted to share this one with you, folks. Went on a run south today and ended up in Brighton (first time in my life). The traffic was unbelievable and I was running out of fuel (even the board comp was showing I have some). The useless GPS was showing petrol stations where there were none and was just wanking around the town. I finally got directions to one station, but just in a steep accent my bike started to cut of. I thought WTF:mad:. There was an old VW campervan in front of me. Out of a sudden, an old lady jumped out of the camper van and asked me, whether I need fuel, that they have some handy. I said, yes, of course...they pulled over and got a little canister from which they gave me a bit and this helped me to make it to a petrol station.

Believe or not, it really happened. When the bike started to cut of, I have managed to start it again few times. That is how they might have noticed I have a difficulties as we were in the queue. I am not making it up, really.

I run an old VW camper and keep a tubeless repair kit on board just for the specific reason of helping a biker in trouble. Always offer a coffee when in a layby, always stop for a lone biker at the side of the road to check if OK :thumb

It's what us old VW camper drivers/bikers do :rob

:beerjug:

I've never experienced such terrible driving as I have in Brighton.:rob

And for a place that has so many bikes meeting on the sea front, I've never experienced such a disregard for bikes by other motorists.

I have no desire to return.

Brighton rocks, if I was forced to have to move back south that's the place I'd go :)

Nice story Vaclove and a nice counter to all the cynical, miserable old gits on here ;)

Traffic is shite in brighton at the moment as the main 259 between the piers is closed due to some subsidence caused by work being carried out on one of the bars in the arches below.
Glad you got helped out.

I try not to go there unless I can help it. parking is expensive, traffic is a pain since the Green party 'manage it'. We go there for the Ace cafe day in September, but get there at silly o clock as we do a club stand .... and sometimes for the other bike day in october, though i cant remember what that one is called. We used to like going to the Lanes to look at all the weird and wonderful shops, but most of the good ones seem to have gone....apparently, there are some that sell battery operated rubber toys for men and ladies.....so i have heard....

One very kind person giving fuel :) Iv been to Brighton was a few years ago but had a great time on bikes we camped in a friend of a friends garden ;)

Ohh err those toys you speak of widget
