Yes.

Try Barry Barber in Drayton, Portsmouth.

BMW-trained.

Excellent service and work.

Takes very good care of your bike.

He can collect from your home if that's important (he usually makes a small charge for his diesel of about £5-10).

You can get him on : 07810 713710 Or 02392 594776.

To be honest, the mobile is probably best, especially during the day when he's likely to be out inhis workshop.

:)

Wasn't Barry the chap who used to work at SPC a few years back? If so then I remember his work being good. I may give him a try in the next couple of months.

Does he do MOTs as well?

Yes. He used to be at SPC.

No, he doesn't do MOTs, but he has a very good 'in' with the chaps at Portsmouth Honda who seem to be able to slip him in with little or no notice, if needed.

Isn't that just a wee bit dodgy? No doubt he then charges for a full tank and fuel system drain-down while he's got the bike?

Indeed he is - just had my 36,000 mile 'inspection' done on my 1150GS by Barry - great service (collect and deliver) and great value - couldn't be happier. He is also sourcing parts for my girlfriend's F650 Dakar (panniers and centre stand).

Got a nice B-Ems stamp in my service book too.

Bike is running better than ever and his attention to detail was fantastic.

I need an MOT soon and he has confirmed that he can get this done for me as well.

Excellent.

His number again: 07810 713710

I recently had my GS serviced by Barry Barber and it now goes like stink.

The bike felt so different that I thought the clutch had started to slip and then suspected the air filter hadn’t been fitted. Of course neither of these was the case, it was just that the bike had never revved or pulled away so well.

So Barry comes highly recommended though the service wasn’t cheap (Bahnstormer actually quoted £35 less for the basic service).
