Infinity’s store in Holborn, London

Obviously an age thing, but am I correct in recalling that the Great Portland Street shop was originally a Lewis Leathers shop?

Lewis Leathers was indeed on Great Portland Street.

Roughly here, at no. 124, near enough on the corner of Great Cavendish Street, W1.

Grief, Lewis Leathers takes me back - I've still got a pair of their black leathers, replete with baggy arse, in true '60s style..

Very retro, they still fit, but don't offer the kind of protection we all consider appropriate today.

Infinity at York is the same , always excellent service and well worth the 200 plus miles round trip (if they say they have an item in stock it is there and as with my last helmet they didn't have the colour I wanted but once I had the sizing and ordered one it was delivered to my home address within 48 hours )

Ok so I have to give Steve at Southampton Infinity a good shout out. After 15 years I have today replaced my old Rukka Armas with a Kingsley jacket. He was just really helpful clearly knew his stuff and helped me part with a shit load of money. I have no doubt this jacket will last as well as my previous one. Well done him and his fellow staff.

Infinity in Norwich is great too. Knowledgeable staff and quick to replace faulty or clothing purchased mistakenly bought the wrong size.

Indeed they did.

It was a poor move.

The service there was, for many years, really good. It has now fallen off a cliff. Nobody expects to be treated like royalty but they can’t now get even the basics right. It’s a shame as:

A. It is owned directly by BMW, Munich

B. It is convenient for me to get to and from

I can only compare their current level of service with that which I obtained from the very small Bacons Kawasaki / Royal Enfield dealership in rather unglamorous Newbury Park, which was very good. Similarly, I used to enjoy great service from Wybrow’s very small Honda dealership in the equally unglamorous Stanford-le-Hope. Battersea needs a rocket putting up it.
Convenient? To get from wapping to park lane? Everything is relative i guess
