Installing Mapsource on another PC

Right 'O' knowledgeable ones, went to install Mapsource on my Pc as I require the printer. it is already on my Laptop. Unfortunately I keep getting the following message, when I click on the Install shield Wizard.

Severe

Please start this data CD
install from the setup CD

I then get a message from the Wizard, stating the install has been interrupted, try again.


Uh! but I am, and it won't let me go any further, Help!!!!

Just did it this weekend...

Got to start with the one in the cardboard sleeve first, called 'Setup CD for Quest'

Then go onto mapsource install, and switch to disk 1.

Nope sorry don't have that, just have Disc 1 and 2, City select V6 with V8 City Nav DVD to add later. All the install shields are on Disc 1, all the maps are on disc 2

True, I assumed Quest or later... Mine came with V6 and insists on the setup cd.


Windows installer been updated recently? What OS has the pc got on it? Someone will have similar and seen this.

There is an OS updater on Disc 1 which the wizard installs no problem, I will try the windows updater route.

I think before you install you have to run the wizard on the computer you already have mapsource, and on the first menu you have an option to create an unlock code backup. Then you copy this file to the new computer and run the wizard. I can have a look later when I get home...
