Insurance and colours

My mate bought a second hand white gS1200 from a local dealer a few years ago, several months after, looking at the log book its was down as a blue bike. After confronting the dealer they admitted to changing the panels because it had become the popular colour and was easier to sell. Its only a beak and tank top panel to change and at cost prices a colour change is cost effective to a dealer. Have you checked your documents?

Permanent change only, pop on pop off panels wouldn't count. hence a wrap doesnt count.....I certainly wouldn't bother with it

Hmm,

A dealer just offered me an Ocean Blue '16 GSA but is able to swap the coloured panels with some Olive Green ones they have. Presumably, if it was registered as green (its unregistered) there would be no issue?

But then, would i want a new bike with an older paint colour....even though its my favourite.... mmmmm
