insurance and salvage value of a '99 GS?

Has anyone had theirs written off recently? Mine's awaiting an assessor at the moment after an accident last week, and I'm trying to work out the economics of rebuilding it. It's cosmetically a bit challenged at 145,000 miles but the engine's strong-the trouble is, its probably got a wrecked gearbox and final drive. So, if its written off, how much do you think the insurance will pay our, and how much will it cost me to buy the salvage back? I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Your insurance company or assessor are the only ones who can answer that. A lot now have deals with salvage auctions for a set percentage of the bikes book value.
