Someone knows the address or GPS position of the insurance office in Tetouan?
I have searched the forums without finding it.

And which is the price for two weeks?

Thank you.
Chris

The address is supposed to be

Assurances Randa S.A.R.L.
Siége Social 2
Ave. Mohamed Torres
Tetouan
Tel: 039 965602

A little while back the rates were 60 euros for 2 weeks and 89 euros for 4 weeks.

I have also been told there are also places across the road from the ferry port in Algeciras that do Maroc insurance.

If you find any of these please let us have the waypoint(s).

Has anyone had to rely on local Moroccan insurance following an accident?

Thank you Tim, I will do...

It may be easier to go from Algiceras (or better still, Tarifa) to Tanger where insurance is still available at the port. Tanger is probably an easier option as regards border formalities also, and with the new road network is as quick and easy to get out of and toward wherever you are heading. Tetouan is not far from Ceuta but there are regularly Police at every island and junction between the 2. It's also far enough to have an accident and need insurance before you've had chance to buy it.
Tim is about right on the price, however the periods are normally 10 days or 1 month. So if you are there for 2 weeks you'll need a months insurance.

There are 2 offices in the row of shops across from Algiceras Port that claim in their window to do Maroc insurance but I have never found either of them open!

We visited the shops opposite the port in Algeciras last Sunday morning, we were looking for ferry tickets not insurance. The shops were only using freely available internet websites and trying to charge us 20euro extra.

The touts who come and grab you as soon as you pull up seemed to 'claim' us as theirs and when we went from shop to shop informed the assistants that we were already spoken for. Generally an unproductive experience. I would avoid the shops completely and have your insurance, tickets etc printed before you depart the UK.

My companions from the UK terminated their existing insurance policies and started new ones with carole nash to get the green cards before they left.

Morrocan immigration didn't check our insurance papers on the way in, but this may not always be the case.

Sorting insurance, DT16 and green card in UK before departure are all good ideas if possible, although not essential. However ferry tickets are not , to my knowledge, available in UK. Never had much of a problem at Algeciras, you just have to learn how to refuse the touts firmly but politely. Playing one ticket seller off against another to get the best price is good practice for shopping and booking hotels once in Maroc. If the bartering is not to your taste maybe Maroc is not the best place for your Holiday:D
Tickets from Tarifa are even easier, roll into the port-buy a ticket, job done:thumb
