Afternoon all,
While I was on the Welsh National Rally, my 1999 R1150GS hiccupped a few times and then later on cut out. Bridging the wires for the side stand cut out with a scotch-lok sorted me for the rest of the weekend.
A few weeks later, I was on the A3(M) and the bike hiccupped on and off throughout my 40 mile journey but didn't cut out completely. When I got home I gave the electrics a good look over and couldn't see any particular issues. I did replace the scotch-lok with a more solid and reliable connection as a matter of course but couldn't see anything else that needed rectifying as such. I mean the electrical connections are, in general, are a bit corroded as they might be on any 110k mile motorcycle - but nothing terrible.
Any thoughts on what might be causing an intermittent cut out if it turns out not to be the side stand switch?
