How do i stop wanadoo broadband from connecting automatically it used to only connect when i double click speedtouch connection

It's broadband, it's meant to be "always on" 
Seriously though, I doubt if its Wanadoos problem. You've probably got a program running taht is trying to access the internet and it just goes ahead and does it.
Something like a mail client or AV software trying to check for updates?
Does it just connect or is there an associated window opening as a result?

I think i have sorted it, I have turned Skype off on start up
