tried updating to the new os. its bricked it. telling me to connect to iTunes. when i do it still will not work says I'm not eligible for this build and brings me here-https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT201442

Sorry, I can't help.

But my 4S updated flawlessly..so it appears not to be that Apple have blocked the new upgrade from an old phone.

Looked into it. A lot of 4s' are experiencing issues with this update. Despit my rage, I got a 5s.
