My iphone worked ok, bluetoothed to the Zumo. Didn't like the rest of the gizmo's on it and the fact it wouldn't bluetooth to the car.. Sold it on ebay for more than it cost me.....:D

Wouldnt of thought so mate, is the interference bike related as in up and down with the engine revs or just a static noise none bike related?

Bit of both really ? you can hear the engine whine up to about 2500 rpm but a slight background hiss (I have ground loop isolators). Didnt seem to hear any of this when I had the in helmet speakers?

Any advice is appreciated Rich.

The thing to do is unplug everything so it will be just you on your todd plugged in and see how the system sounds then. This will show up if the comms are clean or if its the cables being used on the bike as in cable routing etc.

With the in-ear you will always hear a lot more due to the way they are designed, hiss wise this will always be there due to the amps being used which you will not hear once you get moving. I personaly use a set of UEP's and never find the hiss noticable on a bike or in a car.

Rich - HELP

Spent all day on this again. Here is my setup -

Zumo to amplirider input 1
Iphone to amplirider input 2 (for ipod -better sound compared to zumo)
Ground loop isolator (not autocom lead) from amplirider to input 2 on autocom kit 200.

Autocom bluetooth dongle paired to zumo and connected to input 1 on autocom, Iphone bluetoothed to zumo.

problem - I had an alternator whine and crackle.

I have just re-routed all the leads and managed to minimise the whine but still have the crackle?

Any other pointers or would it be best to book a time slot and come to see you in Warwick?

As always, any pointers are appreciated. This is driving me nuts !

I think we need to see your bike here mate if possible as we cna then see your set up and have a listen etc.

If you could give us a ring on 01926 431249 someone will be able to get you booked in.

iPhone/Zumo550

yes, i've had an iphone/zumo550 hook-up for some time now, and if the bike is moving at all, people always go 'what is that horrible noise?' So, generally i don't make or receive phone calls from the bike, and use the iphone for my tunes only (unless am stationary). my autocom is sitting on the fuel pump under my saddle (800GS) and so that might have something to do with it (do you think GSRich?). Trying to relocate it to the back of the bike where those without alarms would be better, but none of the supplied cables stretch that length.

Yeah it could be where your main control unit it positioned as normally interference is caused through locations, lead routing or the wrong leads being used for the connections.

Should have them back in 2 weeks (I hope) then i will give you a bell. :nenau
